President’s lavish spending irks voters
The lavish spending, the excesses and indulgence of Turkey’s chief political Islamist, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, stands in a sharp contrast to the economic woes of millions in this country — especially with the burgeoning of urban and youth unemployment — culminating in a big disconnect between the government and the people.

The sad saga of a South Korean woman in Turkey
The terrible ordeal South Korean Suhyun Kim has been experiencing in Turkey since her Turkish husband Hüseyin Korkmaz, a police chief, was jailed on trumped up charges in a government-orchestrated judicial sham more than 10 months ago tells the tale of a courageous young woman with strong convictions and faith who stands by her man during difficult times and challenging conditions. Turkey’s Balkan policy is a disaster
Turkey’s political Islamist oligarchy, after having consolidated power and effectively controlling every mechanism of the state, is now using cultural, historical and religious links to the Balkans as a means to advance religious fanaticism in southeastern Europe, trampling the rational and traditional interests of Turkey, which are grounded in boosting trade and strengthening stability and security in the Balkans.

Voters want a change in Turkey
Though the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) may receive the largest number of votes by some margin in the June 7 parliamentary election, AKP leaders and field candidates are certainly running scared as the threat of losing the parliamentary majority, and thereby the government, looks more certain. Turkish Islamists exploit Palestine
Just like Iran has been doing for years, political Islamists — who finally seized power in the Turkish government significantly eroding constitutional checks and balances, causing the disintegration of the rule of law and curbing parliamentary democracy — have done a great disservice to the Palestinian people by exploiting their plight for domestic and regional ambitions. Erdoğan’s mosque-building frenzy
Drawing on the infamous Wahhabis of Saudi Arabia and Ayatollahs of Iran, Turkey’s chief political Islamist, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his associate zealots in the government have been preoccupied with the idea of constructing mega mosques in Turkey and abroad to build influence and project a politicized religious discourse to the masses. Heroic judges of Turkey
The two judges, Murat Özçelik and Mustafa Başer, who recently ordered the release of a leading journalist and dozens of anti-corruption investigators appear to be quite informed on the case law of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) as well as the recommendations issued by the Council of Europe (CoE) and Venice Commission that contributed to their liberal rulings despite intense government pressure and blatant interference by the president to prevent that from happening. Let’s kill all the lawyers in Turkey
Human rights lawyers, liberal judges and independent prosecutors have now become the main target of the authoritarian leaders of the political Islamist regime in Turkey. These political Islamists have intensified their campaign of systematic obstruction, intimidation, harassment and even assaults by the police against the defenders of rights and liberties ahead of critical elections that may very well seal their fate.
